Easy Hotel Buttermilk Waffles

Are we the only ones who love hotel waffles? I’m not sure why they are so good at hotels, but they always are!

Seriously friends, can you duplicate them? Well, this is my best attempt…and I must say, they’re pretty darn good!!

Light, fluffy, hotel waffles made from scratch! Yummmm.

I am sooooo NOT a morning person. Therefore, I’m not so good at actually cooking breakfast at 7 am before my kids are off to school. We’re more of a here’s a banana or granola bar for breakfast kinda family. However, in my effort to actually make breakfast for my kiddos on a school day, ya know maybe once a week…I decided to make these easy buttermilk waffles. BUT, the fabulous part about this was I  made the batter the night before!! So all I had to do in the morning was give it a stir and pour it in the waffle maker. So easy, anyone can handle this!

I’ve tried a quite a few different recipes for waffles, but these easy buttermilk waffles are the winner! It must be the buttermilk. Now, I don’t necessarily always have buttermilk in my refrigerator so you do need to add it to your grocery list ahead of time. We tend to get in a bit of a breakfast rut around here on school days, so this was a wonderful solution. I mean, my kids thought we were on vacation or something!

Pair these “hotel waffles” with some fruit and bacon and my family is in heaven. When we’re really fancy, my daughter likes to top hers with some chocolate chips, berries, and whipped cream! Hey…you’re even getting some fruit into your kiddos!
